For the thousands of residents who ride the City of Doral’s free trolley each day, the wait just got a lot more comfortable.

The City of Doral has completed its Citywide Trolley Shelter Project, which brought 10 new shelters to key stops throughout Doral. Beyond the shelters themselves, the project also delivered sidewalk upgrades, ADA improvements, and landscaping enhancements, all aimed at improving the experience for riders and pedestrians alike.

“Every day, our residents rely on the trolley to get to work, school, and the places that matter most,” said Mayor Christi Fraga. “These new shelters are about more than infrastructure, they’re about making that daily experience safer, more comfortable, and more connected. It’s another step in building a city that truly supports and moves with its people.”

The city celebrated the completion of the project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Mayor Fraga was joined at the ceremony by City Council members, city staff, and project partners Arango Billboard & Construction and Gannett Fleming.

Doral’s trolley system is free to ride and serves as a vital link for residents and visitors navigating the city. With the addition of covered, accessible waiting areas at high-traffic stops, the city is building on that foundation by investing in everyday infrastructure that makes a real difference for the people who depend on it.
