The City of St. Augustine’s Neighborhood Grant Program (NGP) has once again demonstrated its value as a catalyst for small-scale community improvement efforts. Administered by the Neighborhood Services Division, the program provides up to $3,000 in funding to formally and informally organized nonprofit groups seeking to implement enrichment projects within city neighborhoods.

During the 2024–25 fiscal year, the NGP awarded funds to several local organizations whose initiatives supported neighborhood enhancement, environmental stewardship, and community engagement. Due to the volume of successful applications, the program’s annual budget has been fully allocated, and the application period is now closed until the next fiscal cycle.

The next opportunity to apply will begin Wednesday, October 1, 2025, marking the start of the 2025–26 fiscal year. Applications submitted before that date will not be accepted and must be resubmitted once the new grant cycle begins.

Neighborhood Services extended congratulations to the following nonprofit groups whose proposals were approved and funded this year:

  • St. Augustine Ravenswood Neighborhood Association
  • Lincolnville Community Garden
  • Uptown Business District
  • Emergency Services and Homeless Coalition of St. Johns County
  • Best-Richardson African Diaspora
  • Kids Bridge Supervised Visitation Center
  • Lighthouse Park Community Garden

Each of these organizations used NGP funds to advance projects that directly benefited their neighborhoods and aligned with the City’s goal of fostering strong, connected communities.

In addition to funding, the NGP offers technical support from City staff to help organizations successfully plan and execute their projects. The Neighborhood Grants Program Award Committee (NGPAC) reviews all applications to ensure alignment with program guidelines and objectives.

The NGP continues to be an accessible and impactful resource for grassroots efforts that enhance the quality of life across St. Augustine’s diverse neighborhoods.
