The Florida Recreation and Park Association (FRPA) has named seven Florida cities winners in its annual awards program. The awards are designed to recognize and celebrate the individuals and organizations contributing to the success and value of parks and recreation. These awards were presented at the 2023 Annual FRPA Conference. The winners are:
- City of Dunedin Parks and Recreation: Public Relations Award – Electronic Media for Party Pooper Media Campaign.
- City of Oldsmar Parks and Recreation: Public Relations Award – Print Material for Experience Oldsmar and Innovative Programming
Community Building for Oldsmar in Orbit.
- City of Plantation Parks and Recreation: Public Relations Award – Campaign or Initiative for Parks and Recreation Gamebulance and Rising Star to Jordan Holaday, Recreation Services Manager.
- City of Pompano Beach Parks and Recreation: Excellence in Sports Tourism – Large Market
- City of Port St Lucie Parks and Recreation: Agency Excellence Award – Health and Parks Professional to Kelly Boatwright
- City of St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation: Innovative Programming – Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Mindful Mondays and Agency Excellence Award – Community Building
- City of Weston Parks and Recreation Department: Lifetime Award to Don Decker, City Manager and a former Parks and Recreation Director, and Voluntary Service – Group to Arts Council of Greater Weston.
