The City of Brooksville recently hosted a volunteer event to clean up and organize the City’s supply of historic Augusta Block Bricks. Vice Mayor David Bailey suggested the event to save taxpayer dollars.
The event was held at the Department of Public Works. It was well-attended and produced 19 pallets of useable bricks for future road restorations and repairs.
Volunteers were supplied with safety goggles, gloves and tools to remove asphalt from recovered bricks. Bailey attended, as well as Council Members Christa Tanner and Casey Theiryung, City Manager Charlene Kuhn, other city staff, residents and employees from Tripeak Roofing.
