For the 36th consecutive year, the City of Eustis has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. The City received the award for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, 2024.
Under the leadership of Finance Director Lori Carr, staff prepare the report in the months following the end of each fiscal year, which is then reviewed and judged by the GFOA. The impartial panel determined that the report meets the program’s high standards, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate the City’s financial story and encourage users to review the document.
The City of Eustis also received the GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the 11th consecutive year for its 2025–26 budget. To earn this award, the budget had to meet nationally recognized standards for effective presentation and be rated proficient in four key areas: its usefulness as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide and communication tool.
“Our Finance Team works diligently each year to ensure the City’s financial reports meet the highest national standards,” Finance Director Lori Carr said. “Their commitment helps ensure our financial reporting is clear and dependable.”
