The City of Coconut Creek recently reached the one-year mark of its successful Ambassador Program for residents and business owners. Launched in June of 2022, the program aims to foster collaboration between the City and participants and empower participants to tackle important issues. Two Hundred and twenty-six residents and business owners have participated in the program, averaging 50 residents per session.
The Ambassador Program is closely aligned with the City’s strategic plan, Vision 2030, which was developed in collaboration with residents, the business community, elected officials, and staff. The program seeks to equip participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to make a tangible difference in their community.
Ambassador meetings are held monthly in city commission chambers. Ambassadors have discussed topics such as emergency preparedness, Florida’s Turnpike expansion, public safety programs and more. All meetings are open to the public, encouraging diverse voices and perspectives to be heard.
Mayor Josh Rydell stated, “The Ambassador Program in Coconut Creek is a testament to the power of community collaboration. By coming together, brainstorming ideas, and engaging in meaningful discussions, we can transform our City into a beacon of innovation, inclusivity, and progress, while cherishing our small-town personal touch. Ambassadors play an active role in building a strong community that we can all be proud of.”
