The City of Coral Springs recently hosted the community’s tastiest event to date.

More than 3,500 slices of pizza were served to more than 1,500 attendees as part of the City’s Largest Pizza Party held at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts.

Representatives from 15 Coral Springs-based pizzerias were on site to hand out the free slices. Every Coral Springs resident who attended received two free slices from the pizzeria(s) of their choice. Guests also participated in highest dough toss and pizza box racing contests.

Coral Springs Mayor Scott Brook and City Commissioners tried their hand at a pizza box folding and stacking contest. Coral Springs City Manager Frank Babinec ran his own pop-up pizzeria, known as “Frank’s Bistro,” where he baked custom pizzas for charity.

The City’s Largest Pizza Party, which stands as the largest citywide pizza event on record in Coral Springs, served as the final event in a yearlong series to celebrate the City’s 60th anniversary. The City was officially chartered on July 10, 1963.
