The Duke Energy Foundation is investing $200,000 in grants to support organizations working to attract business to the state and bolster Florida’s vibrant economy. The recipients include:

  • City of Apopka, $20,000. Funds will engage stakeholders from government, business and community groups, as well as residents, to define goals, prioritize strategies and drive sustainable growth in the City.
  • City of DeLand, $20,000. Funds will create print, web and digital marketing material specifically targeted to the investor and site selector communities, as well as for secondary reuse by strategic partners.
  • City of Eustis, $15,000. Funds will help secure a consultant to evaluate the City’s land potential for new business investments, with the goal of realizing more growth, creating more “product,” strengthening sustainability and fortifying economic competitiveness.

“When companies evaluate potential business sites in Eustis, they want the time spent gathering information to be efficient and minimal,” said Tom Carrino, Eustis City Manager. They will appreciate the fact that the City of Eustis has accurate data available that will save them time and money. This demonstrates that Eustis understands business needs, which is our competitive advantage.”

Mayor Michael Holland said, “The City of Eustis is very grateful to receive this award. Having a partner like the Duke Energy Foundation that is committed to providing support to local communities to assist with their business investment, job creation and economic growth efforts is simply invaluable.”

The Duke Energy Foundation provides more than $30 million annually in philanthropic support to meet the needs of communities where Duke Energy customers live and work. For more information, click here.
