Oldsmar City Manager Felicia Donnelly has been named a top 10 finalist for the national 2024 Leadership Trailblazer Award by the League of Women in Government (LWG).
This award recognizes an accomplished woman who has demonstrated excellent leadership in local government, mentored and championed women within the profession and inspired women to achieve executive-level positions.
Announcing the finalists, LWG President Susan Thorpe said, “Of the amazing nominees from across the country, the judges felt these 10 finalists best captured the spirit of the award. Being recognized as a top 10 finalist is a wonderful tribute to these remarkable leaders.”
The award is important as women are still widely underrepresented in top government positions. According to the International City and County Management Association (ICMA) database, as of 2023, only 23% of city managers, county managers and chief administrators in the United States were women. One way to encourage more women to seek local government leadership positions is by recognizing trailblazers in the profession.
Donnelly said, “Being named a top 10 finalist for the 2024 Leadership Trailblazer Award by the League of Women in Government is truly an honor. I am deeply appreciative of this opportunity to contribute to a community dedicated to shaping the future and inspiring others. By supporting the next generation of leaders, we can ensure the continued strength and success of local government.”
