The City of Port St. Lucie marked National Park and Recreation Month with a variety of events and activities throughout July, showcasing the value of parks and recreational programming in the community. Organized by the City’s Parks & Recreation Department, the events engaged residents of all ages and highlighted the health, wellness, and community benefits that parks provide.

The month’s events included both new and ongoing recreational opportunities. One featured activity was Lucie’s Summer Adventure Scavenger Hunt, held July 17–22 at Pioneer Park. Families explored the park using QR-coded clues to search for hidden summer-themed items. Participants who submitted photos of all found items were entered into a drawing for a prize package. The scavenger hunt was free and open to the public.

On July 9, a free Zumba class took place at the Port St. Lucie Community Center. Led by instructor Reyna, the high-energy class welcomed all fitness levels and did not require registration.

Residents also took part in GeoTour: Let’s Go Geocaching, a month-long activity that challenged participants to locate six hidden caches in City parks. Registration opened July 1 at Minsky Gym for a $5 fee, and participants who completed the challenge received a reward.

In addition to these featured events, the City continued to offer a range of summer programs for youth and adults. These included basketball and flag football leagues, art camps, wrestling, monthly garage sales, and a virtual Minecraft competition centered on building a version of Port St. Lucie.

To make participation easier, residents were encouraged to download the new Webtrac app or visit PSLParks.com to explore offerings and register for programs.
