The City of Coral Gables won first place in the 2023 Government Experience Awards presented by the Center for Digital Government (CDG).

The award was earned for implementing the City website and integrating it with smart city platforms. The award was given at the GovX Summit, which showcases the latest digital government trends.

Government Technology, a division of e.Republic, said, “Coral Gables has successfully orchestrated the centralization of its customer-centric technology services, catalyzed by an initial website overhaul that has since blossomed into an all-encompassing ‘mastery hub’ catering to the diverse needs of the city’s residents.”

Raimundo Rodulfo, Director of IT and Chief Innovation Officer for Coral Gables, told govtech.com that all the City’s platforms, which include the Smart City Hub public platform, digital twin environments, data marketplace, application store, Community Intelligence Center and more, are part of their innovation and technology strategic plan that fits into the large mastery hub connected by the City’s website.

The website operates with all City enterprise systems, including the 311 help CRM tool, document management systems, community recreation system and the legislative agenda system. Coral Gables also established a wireless Wi-Fi system throughout the city.

The City also has been ranked No. 11 on Opendoor’s list of family-friendly cities. Opendoor’s rankings celebrate communities across the United States that offer outdoor spaces and parks and reflect families’ desire for community and simpler living.
