The City of Riviera Beach has earned one of the nation’s top honors for civic engagement and community-building. The National Civic League named Riviera Beach a 2026 All-America City Award winner, recognizing the city’s efforts to bring residents, local leaders, and community partners together to address challenges and strengthen trust.

Riviera Beach was one of two Florida communities recognized as finalists for the 2026 award, along with the City of Opa-locka. Both cities advanced through a competitive national process that evaluated how communities engage residents, build partnerships, and create meaningful, lasting impact.

Presented annually, the All-America City Award honors communities that demonstrate excellence in civic engagement, collaboration, inclusiveness, and innovation. This year’s theme, “America at 250: Strengthening Civic Health and Building Trust,” highlighted the important role local governments play in fostering connection, encouraging participation, and helping residents work together toward shared goals.

As part of the finalist process, Riviera Beach and Opa-locka joined communities from across the country in Denver to present their work to a national panel of judges. Finalist teams typically include local officials, community partners, and residents, reflecting the collaborative spirit at the heart of the award.

Riviera Beach’s selection as a 2026 All-America City Award winner places the city among a distinguished group of communities recognized for civic innovation and community-driven solutions. Opa-locka’s finalist recognition also reflects the meaningful work taking place in Florida cities to engage residents and strengthen local communities.

Together, these recognitions reinforce the impact of local leadership and the power of cities working closely with residents to shape stronger, more connected communities.
